Today I’ll be reviewing, Attention Deficit by Wale.

"Attention Deficit" by Wale
So, being a Hip Hop fan, and a Wale fan, obviously i was excited for this album. When I had heard it leaked on the internet, i debated on wether or not to download it. I did. BUT! I also bought the album because I enjoyed it that much. Since I heard Wale on Kid Cudi’s Mixtape, I couldn’t get enough of him. His raps are crisp and his style is awesome. The fact that he is D.C. based Sneakerhead healps too. Anyway. Upon listening to this album, I was going into it with the expectation that this was going to be another “Gangsta Killer” Album. Meaning that there is a new era of hip hop and its not all about Bitches and Hos. I was expecting to hear something similar to the Alternative, Electro influenced neats like Kid Cudi, or the fresh raps of Drake, Tyga, and Travis, From the Gym Class Heroes. But Contrary to my assumptions, Wale breaks out of the gates with his own personal style and sound, one where you can tell he is burning the path of hip hop of or generation.
Listening to the album on the first run through, the tracks, Pretty Girls, World Tour, and Let it Loose, catch my ear the most. They are easily the most upbeat of the bunch, not to say this is a dark album, by any means. Each song has its own personality and stands out from the bunch in it’s own way. The Album in its intirety could be seen as a diagram of a wavelenght. Because it starts rather soft and then spikes with really upbeat and fast party songs, with cathy hooks and solid beats. as it goes on, Songs like Diary, Really make you think and all the last tracks really make you Listen to what he is trying to say. The songs do almost slump down into a depressive state almost with subject matter, focused on racial slurs, and hard times, so It catches you off guard with the sudden drop in attitude.
Overall, I give the Album..
5/5 : Composure/ Producing
5/5: Lyrics/ Songwriting
4/5: Replayability
5/5 : Overall style
So in all, Attention Deficit, gets a 4.75. I really enjoyed the album, and I have played it over and over, I only wish all of the songs were as catchy as the singles.
